[edit] Location

  • Same place, same time (Deansgate, 11 AM)
  • Meet at Starbucks before hand.

[edit] Things to do

  • I'd like to read out the names of the people who have died mysteriously, If any one doesnt mind me borrowing the megaphone for 20 mins...? Its something that gets a lot of people interested at anti-war protests, anyway. (jesse)

Reading out the names of people that have died can sometimes work, but there are several things to consider. 1) The theme of this protest is disconnection, so talking about random deaths in scientology doesnt really gel in with it. 2) How good are you at public speaking? If you spend 20 minutes reading off a list of names, you will bore everyone to death. I think the time would be better spent talking about families that have been broken up by disconnection.

^^ Well, I would say that im quite good at public speaking. One of my day jobs involve public speaking, so hopefully i am anyway :p Also, I admit there is not an immediate link between random deaths and disconection, but when it comes to it, all these people had families, and many of the deaths are suicides, where the disconnection policy is a huge contributing factor. I do concede your point though, I would be happy for it to happen on a different protest, as long it does actually get done. (Same goes forthe speaker, It doesnt have to be me). Peace... (Jesse)

  • we could demand that we see becky thirsten i think her name was and maybe get a recorded statement or something for the parents? (emo-nymous)
  • Like last time, viral advertising. I saw a youfoundthecard card that wasn't mine today and I smiled. Business cards everwhere, people.
  • Mass Picnic!
  • Have groups in other public areas informing people of the protest and whats going on, talking to members of the public and handing out flyers? Picadilly Gardens, Market Street and St Annes Square for example?

Now that I'd like, we seem to be focusing on the centre instead of widening the spread of information. - Could try the Arndale too, but masks and the Arndale probably wouldn't go down well. - Yeah, but next time I'm in I'll ask.

  • We could meet up at Victoria Station, walk through Urbis and Piccadilly Gardens and hand out flyers on the way?
This is an idea I like. --Xenubuster 15:28, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Might it be an idea to have (a)quite large sign(s) inviting the passers by/public to "ASK US ABOUT DISCONNECTION" i think it would benefit Anonymous aswell as the picket as a whole if we had a much friendlier appearance (sign wise) aswell as aparent attitude. Would also be a much more personal way to get information across. --AN0N831 16:22, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I've watched some of the vid's on Youtube and some people just seem misinformed. Had to stop a mate from standing with $-ology thinking we wanted to illigal stuff.

  • Has anyone tried to contact a radio station to talk about $-ology? If so, where's the needed info so we can call in and show support?
  • Free Hugs seems to have gone down well (see enturb forums for videos), maybe a good idea for this day? Sort of bring a friendly feeling with the passers by and general public we might meet?
  • Maybe encourage more thought provoking signs? perhaps some art-work even? clever slogans that would make poeple think, and offer up sign and display ideas to other people willing to protest. The "Ask Us About..." signs are great, but we need to be more aproachable and engaging. (in agreeance with the above point)
  • I liked the fact that we had speakers last time, and were able to play music, I think it probably amused passers-by and make them take more interest, and therefore got the more serious message across to more people. Can anyone confirm if we're able to get ahold of speakers again? I'm getting some songs on my iPod which I think would be 'appropriate' (as well as ones I already have), so I hope to be able to use them.

  • Obviously to get what we are doing more noticed aswell as WHY we are protesting more wide spread, we should make an effort to contact and spread the information, --AN0N831 13:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
